Autoruns 13.93

Added On

A free software utility that displays a list of programs and executables that run on the system while the system starts or boots up. The Sysinternals utility developed by Microsoft has a comprehensive knowledge about the programs and executables that are required for the system to boot up successfully. Based on this information, the user can either continue to run the programs / executables or disable the programs / executables. Currently, the utility is supported on the following Windows OS: Windows XP/Vista/2003/Server 2008/7.

Based on the analysis of the utility, the user can remove unwanted programs/executables (also known as autorun programs) to free up the CPU and the memory usage. Further, this analysis also notifies the user about the malware or harmful data that is running on the system while the system boots up.

The utility is capable of identifying the location of the autorun programs running during startup and also can provide the registry details. Some of the autorun programs that are tracked by the utility includes: logon entries, Internet Explorer add-ons including Browser Helper Objects (BHOs), image hijacks, Appinit DLLs, Winlogon notification DLLs, media codecs, Windows Services and Winsock Layered Service Providers to name a few.

Further, the utility allows the user to configure the selection of the autorun programs through a menu based interface.
